| Engine & Tower on Laurel Hill 3rd Alarm August 24, 2009 - Just after 2pm The Laurel Hill FD was dispatched to 495 Laurel Hill Rd for a apartment building fire. Units arrived to find fire coming from a 3rd floor apartment of building 14. A 2nd alarm brought in Norwich and East Great Plains. Due to high heat and humidity from the summer season a 3rd Alarm was brought in, bring Tower 25 to the scene and ET-22 to fire headquarters. Tower 25's crew upon arrival was assigned roof operations to finish gaining access to the fire located under the roof. 25's crew relieved the Career firefighters from Truck-1 who did a great job of opening up the roof. Another Taftville crew was assigned the fire apartment for overhaul. Taftville responded today with a total of 20 firefighters. ET-22 covers a non-injury auto accident while crews fought the third alarm. Only one minor injury was reported |
