2nd Alarm Building Fire in City of Norwich

May 21, 2005 - At Around 07:30hrs The Norwich FD was dispatched to a structure fire at the 751 Club on North
Main St.  Engine 2 arrived an found fire thru the roof of the 1 stry vacant structure and immediately went in to
deck gun operations.  This vacant building has been the scene of numerous fire in the past and have been a
favorite spot for homeless to use as a shelter.  Due to this a "
DO NOT ENTER" order was placed on the
building.  ET-21, and Et-22 from Taftville were added to the assignment to help with water supply.  21 and 22
finished a 1800ft hose lay to Norwich E-3 to the "C" side of the building.  Master streams operated for about 45
minutes and then Norwich brought in Tower 1 to help reach spots in the building where the deck guns could not
reach.  2 collapse zones were established on "A" and "D" sides of the building.  1 suspect was arrested  in the
case and the investigation is on-going.
