| FAST team to Jewett City Basement Fire October 22, 2005 - at around 00:06hrs The Taftville FD was dispatched on a FAST team assignment to the borough of Jewett City at 15 Tracy Ave for a basement fire. Upon arrival smoke was showing from all floors and the eves of the 2 1/2 stry single family dwelling. there was an active electrical fire in the basement and crews could only use Carbon Dioxide extinguishers to hold the fire until JC electric arrived. electrical arcing could be seen from the "B" side of the basement. Once power was secured the remaining fire was extinguished. No injuries were reported. The initial assignment was Jewett City, Griswold, Voluntown, Lisbon, and the Taftville Fast.
