| Taftville & Occum firefighters received proclamations for rescue January 16, 2007 - Seven Taftville and Occum Firefighters recieved proclamations from the Norwich City Council for their efforts at a recent working fire at the Wequonnoc Village Elderly housing complex.. First arriving crews found a fire on the 3 rd floor of a 4 stry brick building. While performing a primary serach of the fire apartment, a unconscious civilian was found and removed from the building where firefighters and EMT's performed CPR on the victim. The victim was resucitated but later succumb to a medical condition that was not fire-related 4 days later. |
