| Chain of Events leads to PD Chase, Crash June 7, 2008 - A chain of crimes in the city led to a police chase thru the City of Norwich that ended with the suspect crashing on RT-97. Just before 11am Taftville was dispatched for an auto accident, auto vs pole at the infamous S-curves on Taftville-Occum Rd. Engine and rescue arrived to find a mini-van vs pole, pole was snapped. RT-97 was closeed for 3 hours while crews contianed hazards and Norwich public utilities replaced the pole.
